Gardendale Man Indicted in Deadly Baseball Bat Bludgeoning of Girlfriend

A Gardendale man has been indicted in the March beating death of his girlfriend.
A Jefferson County grand jury on Thursday issued the indictment against 41-year-old Jon Rodney Bowden. He is charged with intentional murder in the March 18 metal baseball bat bludgeoning of 47-year-old Theresa Lynn "Terri" Miller, a mother of three daughters under the age of 15.
Miller's body was discovered that Sunday when a family member became concerned after not hearing from her and wen to do a welfare check. That family member then flagged down a Gardendale police officer outside of Miller's home in the 400 block of Greenwood Avenue.
They found Miller inside and pronounced her dead on the scene. It was then the search began for Bowden.
