Grand Ridge Man Arrested on Multiple Charges

On October 17, 2017, a Deputy with Patrol Division of the Jackson County Sheriff's Department was patrolling on Reddoch Road near Grand Ridge. The Deputy observed a traffic infraction on a vehicle traveling West. The Deputy then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as being Judy McClellan, she told the Deputy that her driver's license were suspended and she didn't have the money to get it fixed.


The Deputy went back to his patrol vehicle to confirm the status of McClellan's driver's license. It was confirmed that they were suspended. As the Deputy re approached the vehicle, he observed McClellan making furtive movements from her shirt to a handbag that was in the front passenger seat. The Deputy observed McClellan toss a clear plastic baggie that contained a crystallized substance in the side pocket of the handbag. A probable cause search of the handbag revealed the baggie with the crystallized substance that did field test presumptive positive for methamphetamine. Also in the handbag a razor blade, cotton swabs and lighter were found. All items had a white residue on their exterior, that also field tested presumptive positive for methamphetamine. 


At the conclusion of the traffic stop, Judy McClellan was placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility, to await first appearance.


 


Arrested: Judy McClellan, 46 years of age, a resident of Grand Ridge, FL


 


Charges: (1) Possession of Methamphetamine


                 (2) Possession of Drug Paraphernalia                                      


                 (3) Driving while license suspended with knowledge
