During the evening hours of April 3rd, 2018 an officer with the Marianna Police Department observed a white in color, Honda motorcycle, exit the Grocery Outlet parking lot and travel east on Lafayette Street. The motorcycle exited the parking lot at a high rate of speed and was traveling in the oncoming travel lane as it turned on Lafayette Street. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcycle by activating the lights but the driver of the motorcycle fled from officers. For the safety of the citizens and motoring public, the short pursuit was cancelled and an investigation was started.
During the course of this investigation, officers were able to identify the driver of the motorcycle as Jordan Christiansen, of Greenwood, FL. On April 11th, 2018 officers located Christiansen at restaurant in Marianna. It was found that Christiansen had an active warrant out of Broward County, FL for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Christiansen was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await extradition.
On April 12th, 2018 warrants were obtained for Christiansen charging him with the above stated offences. Christiansen will remain in the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance on the new charges.
