GENEVA COUNTY:   Last evening I had the opportunity to join the family and friends of Weston Spivey in celebrating his 18th birthday - which is today.

HAPPY - HAPPY - BIRTHDAY TO WESTON

Weston is the most inspiring young man you will meet. Weston has been home schooled and it is apparent that he was taught as he should be. Weston is very smart, polite, well mannered, and very ambitious.

Weston's grandfather has been a very strong influence on his life. And being home schooled he has had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with his parents and grandfather.

Weston began to work on the farm when he was age 12. He swept the floor. He and his grandfather talked about buffalo and began looking around at the market. They started with two buffalo and today have about 200 heads.

They started a business that has grown and grown. They now serve buffalo through their growing number of restaurants that have added buffalo to the menus.

Today, rather than a day of leisure on his birthday, Weston is meeting with sales people and discussing strategies and progressing in his business. Most 18 year olds would be thinking of "today is my birthday going to kick my feet up". But Weston is driven to enjoy life, enjoy doing what you like to do.

Weston also has encouragement for life: put GOD first, family second and friends third. You only have so much time in life, enjoy life everyday.

We will be hearing some exciting news for the people of Geneva County next year that will involve Weston. He is a young man that believes in service to others and service to the community.

Weston Spivey and his family are class acts, common everyday people who works hard each and every day.

I was honored to be invited to a celebration of Weston's birthday. And my life is better having the opportunity in meeting such a fine young man who is a great inspiration.

Friends of Weston's, M.I.M. Customs ([email protected] ) and the Gilley's of Big Guy's Wood Furnishings & Decor ( [email protected] ) made Weston a large buffalo and mounted it on wood. Some diverted Weston while his dad and Chris set the buffalo up.
