PRESS RELEASE
Effective September 1, 2017, Pilcher Ambulance Service and Haynes LifeFlight will join together to establish a new air ambulance service for the Wiregrass area of Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia and the Pan Handle of Florida.
The combined 104 years of excellence between the two EMS Agencies has set the standard in the region.
On August 16, 2017, Wiregrass Life Flight announced they were ceasing operations out of the Dothan, Alabama base.
To meet the critical needs of area hospitals and EMS organizations for trauma, cardiac, stroke and other medical emergencies, Haynes LifeFlight will now fill the void left by the closing of Wiregrass Life Flight.
Haynes LifeFlight is equipped with the ASTAR 350 B3 helicopter. Their full time medical crew consists of highly credentialed pilots and critical care trained nurses and paramedics.
This flying critical care unit carries the most advanced equipment available including ventilators and advanced intubation equipment, blood products and advanced medications.
Until Haynes LifeFlight begins their September 1st air ambulance operation in Dothan, they will serve the Wiregrass Area with resources from their Troy, Alabama base.
