On December 15, 2017, Officers with the Marianna Police Department attempted to stop a Silver GMC Yukon for an equipment violation on Wynn St. The driver, Sonja Elnora Smith, accelerated and attempted to elude Law Enforcement.
After a short pursuit, Smith stopped the vehicle and was arrested for fleeing and attempt to elude Law Enforcement. A search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of crack cocaine.
Smith was transported to the Jackson County Correction Facility to await first appearance.
