HENRY COUNTY AL:    This week 20th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Larry Anderson has been in a Capital Murder and Attempted Murder trial in Henry County ( Abbeville ).

The case did not finish this Friday and as far as I know is expected to resume on Monday.

NOTICE:    Larry Anderson has just started his 24th year as a Circuit Judge of the 20th Judicial Circuit - Houston and Henry Counties. Judge Anderson has been sick as ever with what is reported to possibly be Pnemonia. On Monday court was recessed about noon or 1 PM after the jury was qualified. Judge Anderson got a break to fight his sickness.

But on Tuesday and through Friday Judge Anderson was back on the bench and trying this Capital Murder and Attempted Murder case. I saw him and he looked like he did not feel well at all, and he said he did not. I made the comment in the 24 years you have never cancelled a after of criminal jury trials.

Judge Anderson said one time he had to get 20th Judicial Circuit Court Judge Ed Jackson

( Retired now ) to charge the jury for him because he got sick. But that has been the only time in his 24 years on the bench.

I tell you that because if someone did not the public would not know the dedication to moving a case along.

This Capital Murder case is where Cunningham is alleged to have been stealing a car and stabbed the victim to death in the process.

The attempted murder case is where Cunningham, while a inmate in the Henry County Jail, someway had a razor blade and cut a fellow inmates throat.

I have been in the courtroom during pre-trial hearings where Judge Anderson has become extremely frustrated over delays in getting this case to trial. Some of those delays have been in the Alabama Department of Mental Health and their examination of the defendant on his mental stability.

So Judge Anderson, sick or not, has been determined to get this case to trial. So no way was he going to continue it - even if the Judge was wearing a IV. ( He is not just using as an expression of his determination. )
