HOLMES COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE INVESTIGATING ALLEGED SCHOOL THREAT

HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. - The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the report of an alleged threat made on a school bus.

Early in the afternoon of Wednesday, April 4, 2018, HCSO was advised of an alleged threat that occurred on Holmes District School Bus #58. 

Information received alleged that a student overheard a Holmes County High School student state he was going to bring a gun on the bus.

Investigators have interviewed a couple witnesses, as well as the student who reportedly made the alleged threat, and have received conflicting stories from the witnesses and student. 

The student has been temporarily suspended from school while investigators retrieve video from the bus and identify other potential witnesses so that interviews can continue tomorrow to determine the validity of the allegations. 

“We are working in conjunction with the Holmes District School Board and hope to have more answers tomorrow,” said Holmes County Sheriff John Tate. “We take every threat toward our schools and students seriously and do everything we can to keep the students and employees safe.”
