Homeless Stand Down Event Needs Help from the Community

The Southeast Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (SEACH) will sponsor a Homeless Stand Down/Connect event in Dothan on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Donated supplies and volunteers are needed for the event. On May 20th, a meal and much needed supplies will be delivered to homeless areas, camps and individuals.
We are reaching out to the Wiregrass Community for items needed for the Stand Down.
Clothing Needs for men, women & children: clothes (jeans, pants, shorts, shirts, and sweatshirts), socks, shoes, rain coats, underwear
Hygiene Needs: combs, hair brushes, personal hygiene items (Soap, Shampoo, Razor, Deodorant, Toothbrush and Tooth paste, lotion), and women’s hygiene items
Bedding/Sleeping Needs: flat sheets, sleeping bags, tent, air mattresses or cots
Food: non-perishable food items
Other Needs: flash lights, batteries, wallets, purses, camp chairs, Coleman stove, personal camping sized propane bottles, belts, bikes, bug spray & backpacks
Donations can be dropped off at the Wiregrass 2-1-1 office Monday - Friday (545 W Main St., Suite 313) until May 19th between the hours of 8:00 - 4:30. 7 - 10 a.m. on May 20th.
Volunteers are needed from 7 - 10 a.m. on May 20th to help sort and pack the food and supplies for the homeless. Volunteers are also needed from 10 a.m. to 12 noon to deliver the food and supplies to homeless areas, camps and people. If you would like to volunteer on May 20th, go to the Covan trailer in the back parking lot at Wiregrass 2-1-1, 545 West Main St., Suite 313 in Dothan.
