Whether it's a late night accident or the impact from recent storms to a local community, Houston County first responders work around the clock in order to keep people safe.
Houston County EMA Director Chris Judah said. "These first responders leave their families, leave their livelihood, and they're dedicated to ensuring that the rest of us are taken care of when that call comes in."
This passed Wednesday folks from State Farm showed their appreciation to all the first responders of Houston County by giving them an early Christmas gift for the holidays.
The Canary System itself is a camera, and it actually hooks up to your smartphone or computer. "If you have an iPhone or Android, it hooks up to that so you can just go on and you can see what's going on at your house. Making sure your family is safe when your not there.
State Farm presented 500 Canary Cameras to the first responders across Houston County.
Judah feels this is a way to give back to those who are often times forgotten about until they are needed.
We just want to give back and show them that they are appreciative."
