There are no named storms in the Atlantic on Thursday, but that could change as soon as this weekend.

The National Hurricane Center was watching four areas in the Atlantic for possible development as of Thursday afternoon.

The one most likely to become a named storm hasn't even developed yet, but it had a 50 percent chance of becoming a tropical depression over the next five days.

The hurricane center expects an area of low pressure to develop by Friday night over the central Atlantic between Bermuda and the Azores.
