Hurricane Irma Update:
In the last 24 hours we have seen a continued shift to the west with tropical storm force (TS) winds continuing to be a concern. This morning we were advised to expect 30-40MPH TS Winds, but this afternoon we have moved to 50-70MPH sustained winds. We are approaching hurricane force winds (74MPH) and I believe we could be dealing with a hurricane in our area…regardless, we need to plan as if this will be a hurricane.
Projections are that TS winds will begin Sunday evening and could last through Monday afternoon. Early Monday Morning through mid-day could be worst conditions for us. The NWS has moved the TS Watch to Mobile so the entire panhandle is under a watch at this time.
- Rain: 2-4"
