Jackson County Florida Dismisses County Fire Rescue Chief

JACKSON COUNTY FLORIDA:      



Jackson County Fire Rescue Chief Christopher Scott Birge was dismissed from county employment Thursday afternoon by interim Administrator Wilanne Daniels, who cited insubordination as the cause, according to the human resources department.





Starting the job in January of 2014, Birge took over after the former chief of the department, Tony Wesley, retired.







Birge was the the assistant fire chief and fire marshal for Marianna Fire Rescue, when he was tapped for the county job. He had joined the MFR in October of 2012.
