Jacob, Fl. Man Arrested on Multiple Charges

On 5-25-17 the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department initiated an investigation into the aggravated assault of a female.
According to the victim, Thabit Nadir Mateen drove her to a secluded area where he retrieved a pistol. He then struck her in the forehead, causing injury, and fired the weapon near her in an effort to intimidate her. Mateen then reportedly stole the victim’s phone, money, and medication.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Mateen on 6-13-17. On 6-27-17 he was taken into custody at his residence on Jackson Rd. near Jacob without incident by the U.S. Marshal Task Force and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Division . He was booked into the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
Jackson County Sheriff Lou Roberts would like to extend his sincere gratitude to Deputy U.S. Marshal Chris Mask, Deputy U.S. Marshal Steve Thaggard, The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, The Panama City Police Department, The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, and the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in bringing this fugitive to justice.
