Joggers Tackle, Detain Car Burglary Suspect until Hoover Police Arrive

According to Al.com: Two people are behind bars after joggers in Hoover not only spotted one of them committing a crime but chased after him and detained them until police arrived.


The incident happened shortly before 5 a.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Riverchase Parkway West, said Hoover police Lt. Keith Czeskleba. Police were dispatched to the area on a report of a vehicle burglary in progress.


Once on the scene, the victim told officers he and two friends were on an early-morning run when they caught a white male rummaging through the trunk of the victim's vehicle. The suspect attempted to run away but was captured and detained by the victim and his friends.
