Forest Mysteries (entering 4-6 Grade)
Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
$100 members, $125 nonmembers
The forest is a weird and wonderful place with many things to explore! Learn about the forest and the things that live in the forest while hiking, examining rotting logs, and getting up close and personal with live animals. We’ll design experiments, make crafts and discover how amazingly strange nature can be.

Week of July 10-14

Earth Explorers (entering 2-3 Grade)

Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-2 p.m.
$100 members, $125 nonmembers
Have you ever wondered where the rain comes from or how we get energy from the sun? Do you ever wonder why some plants and animals live in certain areas, but not in others? With knowledge comes the power to protect the world around us. In this camp, we will unlock the answers to these and other burning questions you may have about the Earth. We will learn about the environment through exploring, crafts, and games. Become an Earth Explorer and discover the world hidden beneath our feet!

Week of July 10-14

Farm & Forest Fun (entering K-1 Grade)

Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-noon
$75 members, $100 nonmembers
Both the farm and the forest are filled with many different plants and animals. Some animals that live at Landmark Park come out at night to hunt for food, make repairs to their homes and frolic in the woods. Others are awake in the daytime grazing in the warmth and sunshine and sleep when the stars come out. Spend the week learning the difference between the nocturnal and diurnal animals that call the Park home. We will spend time on the farm with the animals active in the daytime and time in the forest looking for footprints, scat and other signs left behind by those animals only awake when the sun goes down.

Week of July 17-21
NEW! Alabama Explorers (entering 7-8 Grade)

Come explore South Alabama with us in this new camp for 7th and 8th graders! In this camp, we will camp and hike our way to Birmingham and back again. The first day will be spent preparing for our journey and we will set off bright an early on day two. We will visit Oak Mountain State Park, Cheaha State Park, and Chewacla State Park before returning to Landmark Park by lunch on Friday. Each day will be spend hiking and exploring all the natural wonders Alabama has to offer. We will also visit the Anniston Museum of Natural History, and the McWane Science Center. All meals from lunch on Tuesday to breakfast on Friday will be provided.

Week of July 24-26
Adventure Days (entering 4-6 Grade)
Monday-Wednesday 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

If you are ready for a great outdoor adventure, then this three day program is for you! We will spend one day exploring the Florida Caverns State Park, one day learning the basic canoeing skills at a local pond, and one day exploring a geologic wonder right here in the Wiregrass. From cave tours, to canoeing races, to finding sharks teeth at waterfalls, this camp is packed full of adventure for children entering grades 4-6. 

Landmark Park is a 135-acre natural science and history museum located on the outskirts of Dothan.  Features of the park include nature trails, a planetarium, playground, picnic areas, an elevated boardwalk, a turn-of-the-century farmstead with sheep, chickens, cows and other farm animals and crops typical of an 1890s farm.  In addition, the park includes a drugstore with operating soda fountain, one-room school, general store, and historic church, all preserved from the surrounding area. The park is open Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.  Regular admission is $4 adults, $3 for children and is free for park members and children age 2 and under.  The park is located on U.S. Hwy 431 North, three miles north of Dothan’s Ross Clark Circle.  For more info, call 334-794-3452 or visit www.landmarkparkdothan.com.
