Dothan, Ala. : Novice crafters and do-it-yourself enthusiasts alike can create high-end custom home décor and personalized gifts at AR Workshop® Dothan, a new boutique DIY shop that offers a unique, fun experience for all ages and skill levels through instructor-led workshops.

Workshop participants can create custom wood plank signs, framed signs, canvas pillows, round signs, trays, Lazy Susans, centerpiece boxes, canvas tote bags, and more utilizing raw materials, a variety of non-toxic stain and paint colors, and stencils.

Miriam Sellers, a fourth-generation local business owner, will open the first AR Workshop® location in the state of Alabama on October 18. Born in Eufaula, Alabama, Sellers returned to her Alabama roots in 2015. Sellers's ties to the local business community stretch back generations. She will be following in the footsteps of her uncles, grandfather, and great-grandfather who all owned hardware stores in Southeast Alabama.

“I'm truly honored to be a woman bringing a woman-owned franchise business to the Dothan community," said Sellers. "I can't wait to put my own engaging and crafty spin on the family hardware trade and show everyone the shop space we've been working on."

Project designs can be personalized with names, quotes and graphics, as well as the color scheme, to create beautiful one-of-a-kind artworks. The average time to complete a project is two and a half hours. Participants can bring their own snacks and drinks.

A grand opening launch party from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 will feature a mini DIY project, sips, sweets, giveaways, raffles and discounts on future bookings. Space is limited. Interested guests can visit the event page to register, and like “AR Workshop® Dothan AL”  on Facebook or follow them on Instagram to receive notifications of upcoming specials.

In addition to open workshops and private or holiday events, summer camps for children will be offered next year. For more information on AR Workshop®Dothan, located at 2958 Ross Clark Circle, call 334-731-3003 or visit https://www.arworkshop.com/dothan/
