Man Arrested on Multiple Charges

On Friday September 22, 2017 an officer with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for running a red light. Upon making contact with the driver the officer could smell the strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Upon further investigation it was learned that the driver, Litterial Long, had a suspended license. While conducting a probable cause search of the vehicle a large amount of marijuana along with other items associated with the sale of narcotics were discovered. Also located in the vehicle was a loaded firearm. Long was placed under arrest and charged with the above mentioned charges. Long was transported to the Jackson County Correction Facility to await first appearance.

Charges: Possession with intent to sell within 1,000 ft of a worship center
Possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony
Driving while license suspended
