Man Charged with Marijuan and Resisting an Officer without Violence

On April 5, 2018, at 4:14 pm, Officers with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Penn Ave and Long St on a Blue Pontiac sedan.
After stopping the vehicle, the Driver, Alvin Mcfarland, fled on foot into a wooded area near several residences. Officesr caught Mcfarland behind one of the residences where he was arrested.
Mcfarland had in his possession over grams of Marijuana, scales and a substantial amount of US currency
Mcfarland’s driver’s license was suspended in 2008.
Mcfalrand was charged with Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute and Driving While license Suspended. He was transported to the Jackson County Correction Facility to await first appearance.
