Man Sentenced To Life In Houston County Found Dead In His Jail Cell

ST CLAIR COUNTY:   In Houston County Circuit Court Joseph Michael Wood was sentenced to life in prison for crimes he was convicted of committing.


This weekend Wood was found dead in his cell at St. Clair County Corrections Facility, a  State of Alabama prison. 


During a security check Wood was found dead on the floor, alone, in a two person cell. The Sta. Clair County Coroner has ordered the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences to conduct an autopsy.


No cause of death has been determined at this time.
