Marianna Man Arrested on Multipe Charges

On March 11, 2017 at 12:20 am Officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to a residence within Pebble Hill Estates in reference to the report of a physical altercation. Upon Officers arrival at the residence it was determined that Shawnest Ivey made forcible entry into the residence and assaulted the resident. Ivey armed himself with a knife while inside the residence where he threatened to commit bodily harm to the victim. Ivey committed battery upon the victim and the victim’s small child with a kitchen pot. Ivey stole the victim’s vehicle and left the scene prior to officer’s arrival at the residence.
A Deputy with Jackson County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle and placed Ivey under arrest without incident at 2:45 pm on March 11th 2018.
Shawnest Ivey was transported to the Jackson County Correction Facility to await first appearance.
