On Monday, August 20, 2018 at approximately 5:30 pm the Marianna Police Department received a report of two stolen hand guns from a local business. Officers with the Marianna Police Department conducted an investigation where there were two (2) firearms stolen from Crosshair’s Gun Store during business hours last week.
It was learned during the investigation that both suspects were juveniles and attended Jackson Alternative School. Tuesday morning contact was made with the subjects and both were interviewed. During the course of the investigation it was learned that one suspect became involved after the firearms had been stolen and was in possession of one of the firearms.
Officers were able to recover both firearms after the interviews were complete. Both juvenile suspects were transported to Panama City, Florida to the Department of Juvenile Justice. The Marianna Police Department would like to thank the staff of the Jackson County School Board for the assistance in this case.
Chief Baggett encourages anyone with any information regarding any criminal activity to contact your local law enforcement or Crime Stoppers.
