On June 20th, 2018 at 8:53 am officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to the Chipola Mart convenience store located at 4195 Lafayette Street, in reference to an armed robbery. Upon the arrival of officers and investigators, it was determined that a black male subject entered the store, went to the bathroom, and then robbed the clerk of the store at gunpoint. The subject forced the clerk to open the cash register and the subject took out all of the money. At the time of the robbery, the subject was wearing a mask. The subject fled the store prior to officer’s arrival.
Investigators obtained information that the subject involved lived at an apartment in Gibb Marianna Village. The subject was identified as Keith Jones. Due to the nature of the offense and the possibility that Jones may be inside the residence, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team was notified and responded to the scene.

A short time later, Investigators were made aware of Jones’ whereabouts and were able to take him into custody at the intersection of Milton Avenue and Harrison Street. Jones was transported to the Marianna Police Department for processing and later taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
