Marianna Police Arrest One on Drug Charges

On 01/14/2019 at approximately 8:40 P.M. an officer with the Marianna Police Department observed a 1990 Buick sedan exiting the Tom Thumb parking lot onto Jefferson Street, without any visible lights. The vehicle then traveled South on Jefferson Street. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle for the equipment violation of failing to display headlights and taillights between sunset and sunrise while on the roads of this state. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Trevon Jamanta Johnson of Greenwood, was asked to step out of the vehicle due to the detection of the odor of marijuana emitting from the interior of the vehicle.
Johnson advised, he did have the remains of burnt marijuana cigarettes within the vehicle. A probable cause search was conducted and did result in the recovery of marijuana and cocaine.

Charges: Possession of cocaine
Possession of THC extract of from the cannabis plant
Possession of marijuana less than 20 grams
