Marianna Police Charge One with Attempt to Flee and Elude Law Enforcement

MARIANNA: On January 28th, 2018 at approximately 10:17 PM., officers with the Marianna Police Department observed a gray in color Toyota, passenger car, parked behind the closed business of McCoy’s Outdoors. The vehicle left the area upon the sight of law enforcement. The vehicle then committed a moving traffic infraction in the area of McPherson and South Street. Officers then attempted to conduct a traffic stop on said vehicle. Upon the officer initiating the lights and siren on the marked patrol vehicle, the vehicle continued to travel in an erratic manner. As the vehicle came to a complete stop near Jennings Field, the driver of the vehicle exited the vehicle and began to flee on foot.
After a short foot pursuit, the situation was contained and the subject was placed under arrest. The subject was identified as Donal Jeffers who is on probation.
Donal Jeffers is facing the criminal charges of Attempt to Flee and Elude Law Enforcement, Driving While License Suspended or Revoked, Resisting Without Violence, and Violation of Probation. Donal Jeffers was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
