Marianna Woman Arrested on Drug Charges

On March 10, 2018 a Deputy Sheriff with the Uniform Patrol Division was on patrol in the area of Fairview Road and Five Points Road in Marianna, Florida. While on patrol the Deputy observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Krystal Renee Hunter. During the course of the probable cause traffic stop a K9 Unit arrived on scene to assist. K9 “Roxy”was deployed on the vehicle to conduct a free air sniff. “Roxy” subsequently alerted on the vehicle for the odor of narcotics emitting from within.
A probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a crystalized substance in a plastic container. In the driver's seat a used hypodermic syringe was located. The crystalized substance was field tested which returned favorable results for the substance being methamphetamine. It was also discovered that Hunter was on Community Control for a similar narcotics charge from 2017.
Krystal Renee Hunter was placed under arrest and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
