On July 13, 2017, Billy Gene King and his wife Joan Camiella King went to their bank around 9:30 a.m. and withdrew an unknown amount of money from their account. They specified that they were going to Jacksonville, FL. Both Mr. and Mrs. King have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. They departed in an unknown direction. A Silver Alert was entered for the two.


On July 13, 2017, at 9:45 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received notification from Hernando County inquiring about the Silver alert. The Silver Alert was confirmed to Hernando County and a positive identification was made of Mr. and Mrs. King. Both were found together and in good health in Hernando County. Family of the King’s was notified and is making arrangements for their safe return to Jackson County.


The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office would like to express the appreciation of the community and to Hernando County for locating Mr. and Mrs. King.
