LYON COUNTY, Ky. — Sunday marks day three in the search for a Fort Campbell soldier who disappeared on Kentucky Lake.
Elizabeth Richardson says her son, 20-year-old JuWan Richardson, is the man crews are searching for.
Lyon County Judge Executive Wade White says they’re expanding the search and re-interviewing witnesses because of conflicting reports. On Friday, emergency management said that JuWan was being pulled on an inner tube and was not wearing a life jacket when he went under.
Elizabeth says JuWan was an athlete who learned how to swim at a young age. He has a twin brother and was engaged to be married.
“Not a day went by that he would not call me and tell me that he loved me,” says Elizabeth. On this Mother’s Day, she won’t be getting one of those calls. “He was the type of person to give you the shirt of his back,” she says. “There is nothing he wouldn’t do for his mother.”
Elizabeth was already planning to drive up from Alabama to visit JuWan for Mother’s Day weekend. Now she’s at Kentucky Lake, waiting for her son to be found.
