Motor Vehicle Accident with a Fatality

HOUSTON COUNTY: At 4:35 PM...  Hodgesville Fire and Cottonwood Rescue responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash in the 9100 of South County Road 33. The wreck involved two vehicles. The driver of the passenger car was transported by ambulance to the hospital with a Trauma Alert.


Dothan Fire Engine 5 mutual Aided Cottonwood Rescue due to the injuries of the driver. The passenger of the same vehicle was pronounced at the scene. The other driver sustained minor injuries.


Houston County Sheriff’s Office and Cottonwood Police also responded. The area where the crash occurred is closed until it can be cleaned up. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.


We are holding the scene photos pending next of kin. Our hearts and prayers go out to both families during this time of tragedy.
