Nevada Woman Charged with Interfering with Child Custody

A Nevada woman who told a Fort Walton Beach man she was going to keep his child overnight instead took the four year old to Henderson Nevada without the father’s consent and refused to answer his phone calls.
43-year old Jenny Thurston now has an active warrant from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office for Interference with Child Custody. She is currently being held in a Nevada jail, awaiting extradition. Thurston said she was the step-sister of the child’s mother, who had passed away in November 2018.
44-year old Guadalupe Gomez told deputies Thurston relayed to him via phone around February 19th she wanted to help them out and have them move to Henderson Nevada. He agreed and she arrived in Okaloosa County February 24th. She bought clothes for the child and asked if she could keep him overnight while she stayed with a brother in Crestview.
They said they would then begin getting ready for the move to Nevada. However Gomez says Thurston never returned with the boy and stopped returning his text messages or calls.
Thurston was located in Nevada and taken into custody March 1st on an OCSO warrant for interference with child custody.
