One More Chance to Join Landmark Park for Astronomy Night

DOTHAN: Thanks to the popularity of this program, we will be holding another Astronomy Night on Feb. 23 from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at Landmark Park. This program gives visitors a chance to explore the night sky using telescopes, plus enjoy a wagon ride, bonfire, Planetarium shows, refreshments and more. 




REGISTRATION AND PREPAYMENT ARE REQUIRED. REGISTRATION CLOSES ON WEDNESDAY, FEB. 21 AT MIDNIGHT. Register and pay online by visiting www.landmarkparkdothan.com or by calling 334-794-3452. Registration is not complete until we receive your payment. You may either pay online or by phone with a credit card or bring cash or check to the park by Wednesday, Feb. 21. If for some reason we have to cancel due to lack of participation or weather, you will receive a full refund. We will let registered participants know on Thursday Feb. 22 if we cancel. If you do not hear from us, we will see you on Friday AS LONG AS YOU ARE PRE REGISTERED AND PRE PAID. Members, $4; Nonmembers, $7; free for ages 5 and under.


 


Landmark Park is a 135-acre natural science and history museum located on the outskirts of Dothan. Features of the park include nature trails, a planetarium, playground, picnic areas, an elevated boardwalk, a turn-of-the-century farmstead with sheep, chickens, cows and other farm animals and crops typical of an 1890s farm. In addition, the park includes a drugstore with operating soda fountain, one-room school, general store, and historic church, all preserved from the surrounding area. Regular hours are Monday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. The park is located on U.S. Hwy 431 North, three miles north of Dothan’s Ross Clark Circle.  For more info, call 334-794-3452 or visit www.landmarkparkdothan.com.
