Our dear Shay was granted her angel wings on Thursday, August 17th. She leaves a huge emptiness in the hearts of all of us who knew her. Shay was born with down syndrome and through her journey, she gave us life. You see, Down Syndrome individuals give us a chance to see joy even in the most boring or tense times. They say what they think, dance when they hear music, are loyal and loving until your last days, routine and predictable, and they are passionate about what they love. Shay was ALL these things and more. She always expressed the love she had for her family, especially her brother that she loved immensely. You would tell Shay how pretty her dress was and she would say, "thank you" or "my brother". Shay absolutely adored school and made friends with everyone she come in contact with. We all share a special story with Shay. The memories will live in us forever!
Shay was preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald Mack Deaver, Mary Elliott Deaver and Samuel H. King; and her aunts and uncles, David Deaver, Kimberly King Owens and Samuel Todd King.
Survivors include her parents, Tonya Dawn King and Dennis W. King; her brothers, Trey Alexander “La’mar” King and Chad King; grandmother, Glenda King; aunts and uncles, Daniel Deaver, Valorie Chancey, Debra Brown, Derek Deaver, and Harold Chancey, Jr.; special cousins, Tasha Collins and Jessica King; and many other cousins and friends.
