Paul Lee Announces His Bid For Re-Election As District 86 Alabama State Representative

HOUSTON COUNTY:    Before a packed house this morning, following introductions by Walter Hill and most importantly his daughter, Beth, District 86 Alabama State Representative Paul Lee announced his re-election plans.

The standing room only crowd, to include the Alabama Speaker of the House, cheered as Paul described his accomplishments and plans to make Alabama grow.

Representative Lee said they do not create jobs. But they create the climate for jobs to come to Alabama and to be recruited. And Lee described legislation that he has sponsored that has allowed business to open and grow.

When Lee was first elected as Alabama State Representative the unemployment rate was double digit. Today the unemployment rate is less then 4 percent. It has taken 7 years to see great results of the climate he and others have created in Alabama.

Paul and Ellen Lee have one daughter. She was adopted, but Lee stressed from the moment she was placed in their arms she was theirs. The adoption means nothing - she is their daughter. But Lee, emotionally said, as children in foster care grow older the chances for adoption growns slim. 

When a child reaches the age of 18 the foster home ends and the child is out the door with what clothes they have on their back and what few possessions they have. Lee sponsored legislation to educate the foster child in Alabama universities to give them a chance in life. Lee said Alabama can educate or they turn to a life of crime in order to survive.

Being parents who adopted a wonderful and beautiful daughter that legislation is special and dear to Paul's heart.

Lee is pro business. He has received awards for his support of business. He returns phone calls and emails. If you text, Walter said you will probably get  call because he is not a big text person.

Paul has the full support of the two that matters - his wife Ellen and daughter Beth. His and Ellen's parents are in heaven. But he described how the parents molded him - not with discussions but rather, son it is like this...

Election for his office and others will be June 2018. Lee is the incumbent State Representative for District 86.
