HOUSTON COUNTY: This evening Alabama State Representative of District 86, Paul Lee, took the oath of office at the Houston County Administrative Tower, Commission Chambers.
The oath was administered by Houston County Probate Judge Patrick Davenport with Paul's wife, Ellen holding Paul's Bible and their daughter Beth standing by their side.
Representative Lee and Judge Davenport were raised together at Southside Baptist Church. Today they both stand as elected officials in Houston County.
This was the fifth Oath of Office taken by Paul Lee. The oath was administered twice as Dothan City Commissioner of District Three. This was Paul Lee's third Oath of Office taken as District 85 Alabama State Representative.
It was 2010 that Paul Lee was elected. At the time Benjamin Lewis was State Representative. Lewis was appointed as Houston County District Court Judge when Judge John Steensland retired.
Lewis had won the Republican Primary. The Houston County Republican Party had to interview and send to Montgomery three names to be interviewed by the State Republican Party. Lee was chosen.
Lee then became the Republican Nominee. He went through the General Election and was elected as District 85 Representative.
Lee has since been re-elected twice.
Congratulations on beginning his third term in the Alabama Legislature.
