Physical Altercation Lands Two in Jail

On July 02, 2018 at approximately 8:00 pm, Officers of the Marianna Police Department responded to Winn Dixie located at 4478 Lafayette St. in reference to a physical altercation. Upon arrival, Officers learned that there were two victims; one being an adult and the other a juvenile. Officers also learned that two suspects who were identified as Maquiria Dixon and Sha’tarra Wynn had already fled the scene prior to their arrival.
It was discovered that Dixon and Wynn had pulled their vehicle into a parking spot beside the vehicle that vicitms were occupying. According to the victims, both Dixon and Wynn had gained access to the interior of the vehicle and began striking the two the victims. One of the victims reported that Dixon removed her from her vehicle by her hair. Officers gathered that this altercation stemmed from a previous altercation.
Approximately 30 minutes later contact was made with Dixon and Wynn. Both were placed under arrest. Dixon who is an adult was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance. Dixon is charged with Burglary of a Conveyance and Child Abuse. Wynn who is a juvenile was transported to the Marianna Police Department where the Department of Juvenile Justice was contacted. Wynn is charged with Burglary of a Conveyance and Battery. Wynn was later released to her mother.
