DISTRICT 29 - HOUSTON, DALE & GENEVA COUNTY:      Charlie and Harri Anne Smith are at UAB in Birmingham. Charlie had surgery today. About four hours ago ( 4:00 PM ) Harri Anne posted updates from his surgery.


Please keep both Charlie and Harri Anne in your prayers. Also please pray for the medical staff that is treating Charlie.


Charlie has a great positive attitude. He and Harri Anne are two of the finest people you will ever meet. They share a great love for each other, but they also share a great love for others.


I AM HONORED TO CALL CHARLIE AND HARRI ANNE PERSONAL FRIENDS OF MINE.


Senator Harri Anne Smith decided not to seek re-election because of the medical diagnosis of her husband. Anyone that knows Charlie and Harri Anne on a personal level realize the devoted love they have for each other. And while many wanted her to seek re-election as District 29 Senator, she made the right choice.


But notice her FACEBOOK Post on Sunday while traveling to Birmingham for major surgery for her husband; “ If you have a problem please still call on me...I am just a phone call away. 334-714-9208”.


Not many elected officials give you their personal cell phone numbers. But while she is going to Birmingham she wants the people she serves to know you can still call her if you need her. Not many elected officials are as devoted to the people they serve.


Charlie’s spirits were terrific before surgery. Harri Anne is a nervous wreck. Please keep them in your daily prayers.


Harri Anne still remains the District 29 Alabama Senator until November.

Headed to Birmingham in this weather.  Charlie’s surgery is tomorrow at 8 a.m. at UAB Hospital. Please keep him in your prayers.  Thank you all for your love ❤️ , prayers and support.   I will keep you updated.  We are hopeful all will go well.  P. S.  I would appreciate you saying a little prayer for me, I am just a little on the side of a nervous wreck but no time for a melt down. I know God has got this. MONDAY  April 23, 2018 at app. 4 PM


Charlie is out of surgery and in recovery.  I got to talk with the Doctor and he said all went well.  He said he removed “a bunch” .  Not real sure what a bunch was but he is stable and in good spirits.   No news on the pathology yet but praying that a bunch means they got it all.  Thank you all for your messages, text, calls and visits.  It means so much to us both.  I guess now it is day to day.  I will keep you informed   Love you all so much
