Please Pray For Me As I Struggle With Stupid Decisions Which Cost Lives

HOUSTON COUNTY:     In this life and work I have learned to not let  a lot bother me.

I have been betrayed by those who I thought were friends, talked about, cussed and threatened. Have helped those in need only later to have them turn on me.

The majority of that never bothers me much. And when those who stabbed me needed help, rarely have I ever turned my back on them. In fact my staff has gotten onto me many times that these people are not really my friends. And I know that but I helped them anyway.

But what really upsets me is (1) when those in power abuse that power and try to destroy someone's life (2) when someone puts ego above life saving measures (3) and when those in power make stupid decisions that are not in the best interest of saving someone's life.

I am on the downhill spiral of life. The majority of my years are behind me and I have made plenty of mistakes - plenty. But one thing that can not be said, that Rickey Stokes has not tried to make things better, and has not worked to improve the system in order to save lives.

And when those in power make stupid ass decision's which the end result is someone dying, I get furious. And when brought to their attention they are to arrogant to respond. Most especially when they, in reality, have zero clue to what they are even deciding.

I realize that many will not have a clue to what this means. But tonight I weep as I think that the system has betrayed a person in need. And those in decision making positions have no clue to the reality of what is really happening. But take the path of ignoring those who do know what is happening.

Today is my birthday. And I have been furious all day long. All because I care for people and that they are served in the emergency in their life. And recently one was not served as they should. Most will say nothing would have saved them. But we will never know.

My response is, it is our job to provide the resources and give it all we have. The outcome is not our decision, that decision rests in GOD'S HANDS. But we are to give it all we got!

And the decision makers just don't get it, do not understand it, and really act as if they do not care.

My heart is genuinely hurting tonight. Several issues but mainly because change was not made because of ego or just plain stupidity. But the decision made is one that can and will cost lives.

And I am a part of the system and can not get it changed. In fact they do not even show me the dignity of a response when called to their attention.

In the days ahead I might spell this out where it is clear...crystal clear. For now I am thinking of the path to make it change in order for life saving to be the priority rather than just plain out ignorance and ego.

I ask you to pray for me in the next couple of days for wisdom and patience. I have zero patience most especially when it comes to life and the responsibility of working to save a life.
