PORT ST. JOE, Fla. - One man is dead and an officer has been placed on administrative leave following a shooting earlier Sunday afternoon.

It happened in a Port St. Joe neighborhood.

Witnesses watched the entire incident unfold.

"My first instinct was to get the kids to safety, you know it felt like, uh, I knew something was wrong,"said Patrick Jones who was in his backyard around 2 p.m. Sunday when his quiet afternoon was disrupted by sirens and car crash right outside his home.

Curious he went out front to see what the commotion was all about.

"The guy in the truck right here, he got out. He had to be cooperating or, I didn't see no weapon or anything and they just start shooting."

The entire neighborhood alerted to the gunfire and watched the events unfold.
