Please plan to join the Rehobeth Elementary Beta Club for a celebration and recognition event for their many outstanding accomplishments at the State Beta Competition in Birmingham and the National Beta Competition in Savannah, Georgia. This celebration will be held August 3rd, 5:00-7:00pm at the Olympia Spa Pool.

These Elementary level students competed in 30 Academic and Arts categories at the State Convention in March.  In 14 of those 30 categories, Rehobeth Elementary won 1st place and were named State Champions. In addition to that they placed 2nd in 4 categories, and 3rd in 2 other categories. These honors qualified them to advance to nationals and compete in 20 Academic and Arts categories at the National Jr Beta Convention in Savannah, GA in June. Also, Rehobeth Elementary Beta student Emerson Trotter was elected to serve next year as a State Officer for Alabama Jr Beta.

The National Convention was the largest Jr Beta Convention in the history of the program as well as the largest event hosted by the city of Savannah, GA with over 60,000 in attendance. The Rehobeth Elementary Jr Betas showed up and showed out bringing home the National Champions Title for Tower of Power, Four 2nd Place Awards, and Six other TOP 10 Awards!

These winning students and their sponsors have truly put Rehobeth Elementary School on the map! Rehobeth Elementary has received much praise, admiration, and compliments from other states about our school and Jr Beta program. So much love and appreciation goes out to our dedicated Principal, Greg Yance, and our wonderful Beta Sponsors, Holly Seales and Kelli Whitehurst, and to the well-mannered students representing Alabama. The quality of dedication and commitment from these and all the Rehobeth Elementary teachers in preparing our kids was first class in every way.  As the guest speaker for the National Convention, Paula Dean said;

“It is so sad that every time you turn the TV on or read the newspaper, it is bad stories about young people; from shooting up schools, and robbery to bullying. I don’t understand why the media never   reports on the good kids and their accomplishments. They are our future and will be the ones running our country one day.”

If further information is needed, please contact the Beta Club Sponsor, Holly Seales at [email protected]  or Alison Thomley @[email protected]/334-791-2091.
