HOUSTON COUNTY: Retired Chief Assistant District Attorney Gary Maxwell explains the Houston County Sheriff’s race very well.
After his explanation Maxwell endorses the region-election Of Donald Valenza.
GARY MAXWELL
For what it is worth, my take on the Houston County Sheriff's race.
I have worked with each of the three candidates over the course of my career as a prosecutor. I consider each to be a friend, each to be highly qualified, and each to be an asset to Houston County.
We are blessed to have these three gentlemen desiring to serve. Rarely in today's political atmosphere do we have the opportunity to elect a "qualified" individual, we have three seeking the same position.
We, the electorate, have a difficult task ahead of us. It is particularly difficult for me as the three are my friends.
After much reflection and prayer, I offer my thoughts, again, for what it is worth.
One of these men was a great Sheriff, one has the ability to one day being a great Sheriff, and one IS a great Sheriff.
Donald Valenza has done a fantastic job as our Sheriff. He has not done anything that discredits his ability to continue in that position.
My opinion is, that as long as he continues to lead his department in the professional, competent, dedicated, and zealous manner that he has over the past several years, he has earned and deserves our continued support.
