Robbery Suspect in Custody

On Friday  shortly after 7am Napier Field Police and Dale County Investigators responded to Superior Metals on Industrial Drive in Napier Field in reference to an armed robbery.  

A black male armed with a pistol entered the business and held the employee at gun point while he demanded money. As the suspect was leaving the business he fired multiple rounds from his weapon towards another employee who was arriving for work.

The employee was able return fire and struck the suspect’s vehicle. A BOLO was issued for the suspect, Lebaron Carty,  and Ozark Police along with Dale County Deputies located the suspect in Hillcrest Homes in Ozark.  Investigators have executed multiple search warrants today at different locations in Ozark, Daleville and Level Plains and recovered multiple items of evidentiary value during the searches.   

Carty has been charged with Attempted Murder, Robbery 1^st  and Shooting into an occupied vehicle. Carty is being held under no bond pending his 1^st appearance hearing. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Napier Field Police, Ozark Police, Daleville Police, Midland City Police and Dale County District Attorney’s Office.
