HENRY COUNTY: This past Tuesday Jerry Green, an 11 year employee of Henry County, was laid off by Henry County Commissioners Benton Beasley, John Ralph Sanders Jay Calhoun, Henry Grimsley and Greg Reynolds, address the Henry County Commission.
Green's comments were addressed by 5 year employee Ronnie Dollar, who serves as Henry County Emergency Management Director/Personnel Director/SafetyDirector, and Henry County Commission Chairman/Probate Judge David Money.
Not one single member of the Henry County Commission that voted to lay off the 11 year employee spoke one word.
Please note, Dollar and Money can not make a motion or vote. So Green's lay off is strictly the five commissioners - Beasley/Sanders/Calhoun/Grimsley/Reynolds. They want to blame on Dollar and Money. That is not a viable excuse because Dollar is not a commissioner, and Money can not make a motion and can only vote in the event of a tie.
The actions of these do not pass the smell test. And from my investigation and talking with people even David Money spoke about, these commissioners did Jerry Green a disservice as well as the people of Henry County. Money spoke about the courthouse being the "people's house". Well, Money had the commission mistreat the "people's house".
At the end of the meeting Chairman David Money gave the Chairman's report. There were no jobs to mention. And this commission has not provided jobs. Chairman Money failed to give the report about the jobs killed by the 5 members of the Henry County Commission.
Jerry, I apologize about the manner these 5 men treated you.
