On October 01, 2018 a K9 Deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office observed a passenger vehicle fail to obey a traffic control device, stop sign, located at Dilmore Road and Highway 231. The Deputy then conducted a probable cause traffic stop a short distance down the roadway.

The Deputy made contact with the driver and informed her for the reason of the stop. The driver of the vehicle was unable to provide any identification and some pertinent information to aid in positively identifying her other than a name and date of birth. The driver of the vehicle was asked to step back to the marked patrol vehicle where she also provided the insurance and registration to the vehicle. While the Deputy was going through insurance folder to obtain the information needed a torn partial Ziploc jewelry bag fell from the folder onto the hood of the marked patrol vehicle.

The Deputy then informed the driver a probable cause search wound be conducted of the vehicle.
