Beginning today portions of Southeast Alabama Medical Center’s East Parking Deck, in front of the main hospital entrance and Doctors Building, will be closed for maintenance. The project includes the upper and lower portions of the deck and it will be completed in six phases. Each phase will take approximately three to four weeks to complete, depending on the weather. During this time, the three front entrance canopies will also be renovated.

The phased maintenance approach allows SAMC to keep most of the deck open. However, a portion of the deck will be closed during each phase, which will limit the number parking spaces for our patients and guests in the East Parking Deck. To minimize the inconvenience as much as possible, overflow parking for patients and guests will be available across Fairview Avenue between Living Well Fitness (the old bank building) and the SAMC Foundation. Fairview Avenue runs from the Ross Clark Circle at Winn Dixie to Haven Drive on the south side of SAMC.
