According to AL.Com: A body was discovered Monday afternoon in the search for a missing Alabama man in Tennessee.
The Blount County Sheriff's Office and the Knox County Sheriff's Office joined forces on Monday, authorities said.
Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong said deputies recovered a body earlier in the afternoon in Georges Creek, close to the construction site on Ballards Way in Louisville where deputies located the 2014 Toyota Camry belonging to 20-year-old Blake Smith who was last seen Saturday.
The body was taken to the Knox County Regional Forensic Center where an autopsy will be performed Tuesday. The identity of the individual will not be released until after the autopsy, authorities said. They stopped short of saying the body is that of Smith, but announced the discovery as an update in the case and thanked those who helped to search for Smith.
