On July 3rd, 2018 at approximately 10:33pm officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to the report of a disturbance at a residence on Gilmore Street. Upon arrival officers were advised that Travis Harvey had already left the residence.

At 11:10pm, officers received another report from the same address stating that Harvey was again present at the residence. Officers arrived on scene and observed Harvey standing beside a vehicle. Officers observed Harvey enter the driver’s seat of the vehicle and began to move the vehicle. At this point, officers activated their emergency lights in an attempt to get Harvey to stop.

Harvey then began to drive across the road, through a yard, and behind the patrol vehicles. Harvey accelerated and re-entered the roadway. At that time, Harvey struck a marked Marianna Police Department patrol vehicle head on. The patrol vehicle became disabled. Harvey’s vehicle continued a short distance before it also became disabled. After the crash, officers were able to apprehend Harvey.

After Harvey was placed under arrest, he began having complications from injuries he suffered in the traffic crash. Harvey was air lifted to an Alabama hospital where he was eventually released. During this time, warrants were obtained on Harvey for the offense of Fleeing and Attempting to Elude. On 07/05/2018 Harvey arrived at the Marianna Police Department to collect his belongings from the incident. Harvey was arrested for the warrant without incident.
