Shelton Strickland, age 77 of Dothan died Monday evening, February 11, 2019 at his residence.



Funeral services for Mr. Strickland will be held at 4pm Saturday, February 16, 2019 in the Chapel of the Angels at Family First Funeral & Cremation Care with Reverend Cecil Condrey and Tim Dickerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory with Family First Funeral & Cremation Care directing. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 7pm on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the funeral home. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Alabama Kidney Foundation, 265 Riverchase Pkwy. East, Birmingham, AL 35244.



Mr. Strickland was born November 18, 1941 in Houston County to the late Terry and Allie Perry Strickland. For many years he was the owner of Circle City Landscaping until his health forced him to retire. In his spare time Mr. Strickland enjoyed singing, dancing, dirt track racing and wrestling. Of all the things he did and enjoyed, none compared to him spending time with his family. He taught tough love but was a gentle man. He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, uncle and friend. All who knew him will miss him.



Mr. Strickland is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Strickland of Dothan; his children, Homer (Buddy) Strickland of Dothan, Terry Strickland of Franklin, GA, Michelle (Tim) Ackerman of S.C., Lisa (Timmy) Sneed, Sharon (Johnny) Harbuck, Kim (Steve) Fendeisen, Bruce (Christy) Strickland and David (Nicole) Strickland, all of Dothan; his siblings, Linda Shepard, Nina Sue Campbell, Willa Dean Condrey (Cecil), Shelby Strickland, Robert Strickland, Larry (Paula) Strickland, Brenda Jewel, Elisa Grier and Margaret Ann; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.



Care for the Strickland family is being provided by Jason Shepard, Randy Crenshaw & Staff at Family First Funeral & Cremation Care.
