HENRY COUNTY: Henry County Sheriff Will Maddox makes it formal and public, Will Maddox will be seeking the fourth term as Sheriff.
Sheriff Maddox says during the last three terms he has enjoyed the overwhelming support of the citizens of Henry County. And Sheriff Maddox appreciates that support.
During his tenure Sheriff Maddox has led the department with the “common sense” approach. And that approach is deeply rooted in honesty, impartiality, integrity and zero tolerance for drugs.
During the three terms as Henry County Sheriff, Will Maddox has led the department to establish an effective partnership and strengthened critical relationships with the Henry County Commission and other law enforcement agencies.
With humility, Sheriff Will Maddox states “PROMISES KEPT”. As he reviews his previous campaigns and promises made, those have been accomplished during his three term tenure as Sheriff. But he is first to say those accomplishments have been made as a team:
Three School Resource Officers
Outstanding Abbeville/Henry County S.W.A.T. Team and Investigative Task Force
Active Neighborhood Watches
Certified K-9 Units
Operating Worthless Check and ID Theft/Scam Units
Proactive Sex Offender and Felon Registration Unit
Working closely with the Child Advocacy Center with Child Abuse Cases
Air Rescue Drug Detection and Surveillance
Cost Cutting by implementing the Reserve Deputy Sheriff Unit that saves money
Innovative technology and equipment upgrades
Mandatory Continuing Education Courses for those who serve as Deputy Sheriff’s
Educational Programs for our Senior Citizens
Expansive Trustee Inmate Program which includes attendance at Celebrate Recovery for rehabilitation
Abbeville Boys and Girls Club and litter patrol to keep roadsides clean.
The Henry County Sheriff Department has come a long way, but there is more to come with plans for continued growth.
Sheriff Maddox says his family plays a very important role by their support in my duties as Sheriff. And I appreciate this support immensely. Without the support of my family there is no way I could be effective and serve. But I am honored to say, my family is all in!
Sheriff Maddox has been married to his lovely wife, Debbie, for 43 years. Sheriff Maddox and Mrs. Debbie’s daughter, Kay and his son in law Matt Culpepper, serve important roles as they support the Sheriff in his service to the people. Matt Culpepper is very important in the Reserve Deputy Sheriff Program and gives of his time to help.
Sheriff Maddox has two precious inspirations for his continued service as Sheriff. Those two inspirations are his grandson’s, Maddox and Maverick. These two, as other young people, inspire me to serve this county and make it a better and safer place to live.
Sheriff Maddox and his family hosts a benefit each year for the Children’s Hospital of Alabama. We recognize what we do here through law enforcement and through serving one another influences the future for citizens throughout the State of Alabama and the Wiregrass.
It is with great joy that I express that I am a Christian. Without a doubt I love the Lord Jesus Christ. I am honored to say that I serve as a Deacon at Union Freewill Baptist Church.
I love my job as Sheriff. Each and every day I look forward to how I can help someone as Sheriff. I look forward to serving, protecting, and preserving a safe place for our children and grandchildren. Whether a parent crying on my shoulder because of the problems they are having with their children hooked on drugs and hopefully guiding them to successful programs, or encouraging young people to be all they can be. Each day I wake up excited of what can be accomplished today.
And I love living, working and serving in Henry County Alabama.
The citizens of henry County deserve all of the credit for the success. And I deeply appreciate everyone’s support and prayers.
When the actual campaign begins it is my desire to visit each and everyone in Henry County. Please remember, I am still the Sheriff and my duties in service takes priority over campaigning. Emergencies make no appointments and that has priority as campaign season begins.
As Sheriff, I am in your office, your courthouse. The door to your office that I have the pleasure of occupying is your office. The door is ALWAYS open to you. If you call I will return your call.
Election is in June 2018. I am a candidate for re-election. I ask for your vote and support.
Will Maddox
