DALE COUNTY: Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched Dale County Sheriff Department to the river at Clayhatchee at 2:53 PM this afternoon to some tubers in trouble.
Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson responded to the scene along with members of Dale County Sheriff Department.
Sheriff Olson had the Dale County Sheriff helicopter go airborne and respond to fly the river in effort to locate the three tubers.
The three young ladies were located and safely returned to the landing. Their tubes burst and became stranded on the river.
GOOD JOB to all involved.
And thanks to the vision of Retired Dale County Sheriff Bryant Mixon, Retired Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Tim McDonald for their forward thinking and vision in the establishment of the helicopter and air units for the Dale County Sheriff Department. And thanks to the continued vision of Dale County Sheriff Wally Olson and Dale County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mason Bynum for their continued vision of the air unit.
McDonald retired from full time with Dale County Sheriff Department. But he continues to work through volunteering his time. And there are several professional pilots that donate their time through the Dale County Sheriff Department as pilots.
Several area departments also assist in some way with the air unit. But this is a valuable program and more financial help is always needed and appreciated. Your gift could mean saving your life or that of one of your loved ones.
THANKS to their forward thinking visions.
