Single Vehicle Accident Claims the Life of a Pike County Man

TROY POST – A single vehicle crash at approximately 10 a.m. today, March 9th, has claimed the life of a Pike County man. Byron Tucker Floyd, 19, was killed when the 2006 Ford F-150 he was operating left the roadway and struck a tree.


Floyd, who was not using a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash occurred on Pike County 1143. Although circumstances surrounding the crash are still under investigation, speed is believed to be a factor.


Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
